Every community has people who quietly make a difference. They serve. They lead. They volunteer. They advocate. They bring people together.
The StrongSteps Community Impact Awards Gala was created to recognize those individuals and organizations and give our community a chance to say: we see your impact, we appreciate your service, your work matters.
The Gala also brings people together in support of the mission of StrongSteps Behavioral Health Foundation.
Community impact happens in many different ways.
It happens when someone volunteers their time, when a business invests in its community, when a professional goes beyond their job description, when an advocate speaks up, and when someone uses their lived experience to create hope.
The Gala creates a space to celebrate that work while building new relationships and supporting StrongSteps.
StrongSteps invites community members to nominate deserving individuals, organizations, businesses, professionals, advocates, and volunteers for the annual Community Impact Awards.
If someone is making your community stronger, we want to hear their story.
Community Impact Award — Honors a person making an exceptional difference in their community through service, leadership, advocacy, or compassion.
Mental Health Champion Award — Recognizes someone advancing mental health awareness, reducing stigma, improving access to support, or advocating for people and families.
Hope & Resilience Award — Honors someone who has turned adversity or lived experience into hope, encouragement, advocacy, or service to others.
Outstanding Community Partner Award — Recognizes a business, nonprofit, school, healthcare organization, faith community, or other organization making an exceptional community contribution.
Youth Changemaker Award — Recognizes a young person demonstrating leadership, advocacy, kindness, or meaningful community involvement.
Unsung Hero Award — Honors someone doing extraordinary work behind the scenes without seeking recognition.
Volunteer Service Award — Recognizes exceptional volunteer commitment and community service.
StrongSteps Beacon Award — The one internal award, selected by StrongSteps for an outstanding board member, staff member, intern, or volunteer.

Anyone in the community can submit a nomination while the nomination period is open.
Nominations are reviewed by StrongSteps representatives, community leaders and approved reviewers using established award criteria - not personal relationships or popularity.
Reviewers keep nominee information, discussions, and decisions confidential, and step aside when they have a conflict of interest.
Honorees are selected for each award category. Submitting a nomination does not guarantee selection as a finalist or recipient.
Honorees are announced and recognized on stage at the Gala, with their stories shared on this page.
