HOW TO GET STARTED

Taking the First Step Should Feel Clear.

Whether you are seeking support for yourself, helping someone else, or making a professional referral, StrongSteps will help you understand what information is needed and what may happen next.

What to Expect

01

Reach Out to StrongSteps

You can begin by completing a New Client Registration form, contacting StrongSteps directly, or asking an eligible provider to submit a referral.

02

Tell Us What You're Looking For

We'll ask for enough information to understand the request and identify possible programs. You do not need to know the name of a StrongSteps program before reaching out.

03

StrongSteps Reviews the Request

A member of our team reviews what you shared to determine what program, staff member, or next step may be most appropriate.

04

A Team Member Follows Up

We may contact you, a caregiver, or the referral source by phone, secure email, or secure message to ask questions and discuss next steps.

05

Eligibility and Program Fit Are Reviewed

Each program may have different requirements. We'll explain which criteria apply and whether more documents, assessments, or referrals are needed.

06

We Explain What Happens Next

The exact process may vary depending on the program, referral requirements, location, funding, and individual needs. We'll tell you where things stand.

What the Next Step May Look Like

The Program Appears to Be a Match

We'll explain the intake, enrollment, scheduling, consent, and documentation steps required before services begin.

Additional Information Is Required

We may ask for records, referral documentation, insurance details, consent forms, or other information before a final decision.

The Program Is Currently Full

If a program has limited availability, we'll explain whether a waitlist is available, what to expect, and what other resources may help in the meantime.

Another Organization May Better Meet the Need

If we do not offer the right program or do not serve your location, we'll share community or statewide resources whenever possible.

Program Requirements Are Not Met

This program may not be the right match based on its current eligibility requirements. We'll point you toward other options when we know of one.
