STRONGSTEPS STORIES: SUPPORT & HOPE

Every Story Can Create Connection.

StrongSteps Stories: Support & Hope shares real experiences, educational conversations, and messages of recovery, resilience, and hope. Every person’s experience deserves to be heard with dignity and respect.

Stories Help People Feel Less Alone

Behavioral-health challenges can feel isolating. People may believe no one understands what they are experiencing.

Families may not know how to respond. Communities may rely on stereotypes instead of listening to people with lived experience.

Stories can help change that. A story can build understanding, reduce stigma, and remind someone that recovery is possible.

Three Parts of StrongSteps Stories

Personal Stories

Real people share experiences of mental health, recovery, resilience, family support, and finding help — through writing, video, audio, or photography.

Educational Stories

A personal story can open the door to a larger topic. We pair experiences with plain-language information about recovery, help-seeking, peer support, and more.

Community Conversations

Stories are also used in facilitated presentations and workshops for schools, employers, nonprofits, libraries, faith communities, and more.

Interested in Sharing Your Story?

You don't need to share your story here. This form just lets us know you're interested. We'll reach out to talk about the project, the ways you can share, and what feels right to you. Nothing is ever published without your review and approval, and you can change your mind at any time.

Your Voice May Help Someone Else

Sharing a story is always voluntary. You should never feel pressured to disclose a diagnosis, treatment history, or details you do not want made public.

You decide how much to share, what name is used, and whether your face or voice is included. A powerful story never requires someone to give up control of their own experience.
